Natasha Kroupensky

My name is Natasha Kroupensky and I am a Mexican Artist. I was initiated in traditional indigenous Huichol yarn painting at the age of fifteen, and it began my creative path.

My work is an offering to that which has been forgotten, silenced, and condemned. I strive to bring attention to these issues, using the immortalizing power of bronze, and the overpowering weight of cast iron.

These processes involve delicate and painstaking labor, physical demands, and repetition. They are subtle suggestions, defying our modern day society, while keeping our global ancient knowledge always present.

I believe cosmological design transcends generations, and through creating objects that demand communication, change can be achieved.  We must work to progress into a more united, educated, and enlightened future.

Education:

Graduated with honors from a major in sculpture at MASSART, Boston.
